Buti Yoga

This calorie-scorching workout fuses power yoga with cardio-intensive dance + body sculpting movement. Created by Celebrity Trainer Bizzie Gold, Buti Yoga utilizes the Spiral Structure Technique to sculpt + tone the deep abdominal muscles that stabilize and strengthen the body. Instead of linear movements, Gold favors movements that challenge the body along all planes of motion - THE RESULT - long, lean muscle with sexy feminine curves.

Candlelight Restorative

The restorative effects of yoga should never be over-looked, no matter what age, and sometimes slowing down the practice, going deeper in poses, and just feeling the restorative power of them does wonders for the body. Candlelight Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxing the body in restful postures with the added visual of candleight. Note that 'rest' is different than sleep. Rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal. Countless studies have proven the physical and emotional benefits of this. Restorative yoga, as well as other forms of yoga, help to trigger the Parasympathetic Nervous System also known as the PNS. The PNS is responsible for balancing the body and bringing its response system back into equilibrium. Stimulating the PNS helps to lower heart rate, blood pressure; it helps to healthily stimulate the immune system and keep the endocrine system operating healthily. When this system gets out of whack, or when the Sympathetic Nervous System, SNS gets over-stimulated, the PNS helps to bring all back in balance. It is believed that is the PNS is tapped out or under-active, illness pervades. Thus, forms of relaxation, such as yoga and meditation, that help to stimulate the PNS are generally beneficial for overall body health. A restorative yoga class is the perfect antidote to stress and a great counter balance to more active styles of yoga. There are far fewer postures or asanas as are found in more active styles. Restorative yoga class is open to all levels of students and is a perfect complement to a more yang or more active style of yoga such as Vinyasa Power Flow.

Come Fly With Me Kid's Yoga

This yoga class encourages kids to explore their natural abilities in an active, safe, and fun way utilizing both the floor and yoga hammocks that honors the diversity of each students' flexibility and strength. Core Strength Flow Yoga

Yoga for Core Strength is Hatha yoga, with special attention to the core: the abdomen, back, buttocks, upper hamstrings, and hip flexors. Students regularly practice a series of asanas (positions) specifically designed to increase mobility (strength plus flexibility) in the core, while addressing common muscular imbalances (tight back/weak abdominals, stressed hip flexors/ sleepy buttocks) that often lead to injury. Increased awareness of core alignment and stability is emphasized in a variety of beginning and intermediate level poses. We will utilize various props such as blocks, straps and the YogaWall to aid in deepening the poses. Great for athletes and dancers.

DanceBarreBody

DanceBarreBody is mix of cardio and toning a la BarreBody style! With dance at the heart of it, you learn how to move… and if you’re like most of us, it’s more like move, stumble, and then nail it. Repeat! It's a shared mindset: keep moving with the music knowing it’s creating a body that looks good on you the BarreBody way!

Earth to Air and Beginner Yoga Basics (Intro to Aerial Yoga, Aerial Yoga Basics)

This class is a workshop style class that breaks down yoga poses and suspension yoga poses. Great class for the absolute beginner with no knowledge of yoga and/or suspension yoga. Come to this class and you’ll be a pro at the poses in no time!

Earth to Air Suspension Yoga Basics (aka Fabric Yoga or Aerial Yoga)

Aerial yoga is a combination of traditional yoga poses done on the floor, and postures practiced using a soft fabric “trapeze” (called a “sling”) suspended at either knee, hip or waist height. Body weight is distributed between the fabric and the floor, allowing us to access traditional yoga postures in new ways. Many newcomers enjoy working with the sling because with the help of gravity there is very little pressure or stress on the joints, especially the spine. Inversions are accessed easily with no strain on the neck, back, or shoulders. Gravity eases us into optimal alignment with very little effort, and deep postures can be accessed through relaxation and deep breathing. Our relaxation response is heightened by the unique sensations accessed in aerial yoga. Hanging in the sling makes our core muscles fire. It is so much fun you don’t even realize what a great workout you’re getting. Transitioning in and out of the aerial yoga postures builds upper body strength, and resting in the postures heightens relaxation for a balanced effort overall. Earth to Air Suspension Yoga was designed for anyone of any age or fitness level. Complete beginners to yoga and/or aerial will be right at home. Students range in age from teens up to 70’s, with everyone working at their own level. If you have any physical limitations or concerns, consult with your doctor first.

Happy Hips and Hamstrings (Triple H!) Yoga

If so, this class is for you. Hips and lower backs are usually stiff for one of two reasons: either too much sitting or too much exercise. Either way, yoga can help if we're practicing in correct alignment. This class will take you through a sequence which will help you learn how to undo years of stiffening patterns in your psoas and outer hip muscles. Your back, hips and knees will feel liberated and you'll soon be doing things you never thought were possible. Great for RUNNERS/CYCLISTS/ATHLETES!!

Hip HopYoga

Yoga and music are long time friends.Popular music can set a tone for an entire generation, the songs we remember that define our coming of age, for example. Music has the unique ability to stimulate tone, pattern, rhythm, meaning and memory in the brain, which are all attributes that contribute to whole brain and whole being functions. So come find your hip hop, find your truth, and honor your passion. When you’re yourself and flowing in your life’s rhythm, that’s when you really start to see how yoga works—a connection of the mind, body, and spirit of all people, all together, flowing to one great beat. Caution: Please note: There may be some explicit lyrics as not all Hip Hop have clean versions--we will do our best to mitigate that situation as possible.

Hot Flow Yoga

Expect cleansing perspiration as you are invited into deeper expressions of familiar postures. Our space will be heated between 90-100F to promote opening and elongation of muscles and connective tissues; a great practice for those with chronic joint stiffness, especially through cold months. INSANITY Workout

Shaun T: "Forget everything you think you know about high-intensity workouts. Because INSANITY turns old-school interval training on its head. If you've ever been to a Spin class, you know how that works. You motor along at a moderate pace for awhile – then all at once, you kick up your speed and heart rate – just for a minute or so. After that, it's back to a lower gear, giving you plenty of time to catch your breath. But with INSANITY, you do exactly the opposite. You work flat out in 3 to 5-minute blocks, and take breaks only long enough to gulp some air and get right back to work. It's called Max Interval Training, because it keeps your body working at maximum capacity through your entire workout. You keep pushing your limits – so your body has to adapt." Come join Certified Insanity Instructor ReBeca for an intense cardio workout!

Intermediate Flow

Classes are designed for those who have a good understanding of the basic yoga postures, and have begun to explore a wider variety of poses and styles. The intermediate student understands the relationship between breath and movement and who are comfortable performing more advanced poses. The intermediate student practices yoga regularly and has begun to master connection of breath with movement. Please no beginners. A practice of at least 6 months is recommended.

Power Yoga

Power Yoga is based on a combination of Ashtanga yoga and hatha yoga and is directed at creating the highest level of energy, vitality and freedom. It is a vigorous yoga form and we recommend that you have a steady yoga practice before starting a Power Yoga class. The only way to do this is to work with yourself, not against yourself. By working hard sensitively, we create an environment that’s healing and that honors each individual, an environment that respects our boundaries and works within him or her. In this way, we create an atmosphere conducive to natural expansion and growth. We’re not interested in pushing past our edge to get to a place where we’ve been brainwashed into thinking we need to be in order to have happiness!

Prenatal Yoga

Research suggests that prenatal yoga can have many benefits for pregnant women and their babies. Studies have suggested that practicing yoga while pregnancy can also improve sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, increase the strength, flexibility and endurance of muscles needed for childbirth. It can also decrease nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches and shortness of breath, and decrease the risk of preterm labor, pregnancy-induced hypertension and intrauterine growth restriction — a condition that slows a baby's growth. What is included in a typical prenatal yoga class?

But don’t forget, yoga is also a perfect workout after you have your baby as well. When you feel ready to move, starting out with gentle yoga, simple breathing and stretching is a great way to start your body moving again. Look for our Baby and Me yoga classes to start soon!

Slow Flow

Experience the fullness of your practice by slowly merging asana and breath to create a powerful, yet subtle, meditative flow. Slow Flow Yoga is perfect for beginners to become familiar with the postures of the body. Also, a wonderful practice for intermediate to advanced students to allow their practice to slow down and deepen.

Stand Up Paddebloard Yoga (S.U.P.)

Stand up paddling and yoga have a lot in common, including the clarity of mind and the full-body workout they both provide. (and willingness to get wet)!Yoga and stand-up paddling go hand in hand because they both take you right into the moment and require concentration, breath, relaxation, a sense of adventure, a sense of humor, and the ability to surrender to something much bigger than yourself. Classes are taught by our certified SUP instructor, Kristen Roe, from The Edge-Your Fitness Advantage outside on a small lake during warm weather months. Class size is limited to 3 unless you have your own paddleboard.

Teens And Teen Athletes: Aerial Conditioning/Yoga/Pilates

Relax your mind, and the rest will follow! Moving in and out of and holding simple Yoga poses, concentrating on proper body alignment and awareness, teens learn to stretch their bodies, catch their breath, and enhance their mood. A blossoming Yoga practice becomes a life-skill that young adults can call upon to cope with and balance the stresses of school work and life. Studies show that teens that have a regular yoga practice perform better on tests and deal better with life's challenges. Teen athletes that use yoga as a complementary practice tend to have fewer, and faster healing, injuries. This practice is beneficial to teen athletes and dancers as a way to improve strength, flexibility. and mental stamina both on and off the field/dance floor.

Teens learn how to integrate different forms of exercise that may seem unrelated thus gaining a greater understanding of how to get the most our of their practice—whatever it may be. Yin Yoga

Yin yoga class is a powerful practice which targets tendons, ligaments and fascia within the body. Each posture during a Yin yoga class is held for long periods of time to encourage the slow and safe opening of connective tissues, leaving the yogi with an overall feeling of lightness, spaciousness and peace. A Yin yoga class is the perfect antidote to stress and a great counter balance to more active styles of yoga. Yin yoga classes involve a relaxed practice of floor postures that are held from three to five minutes at a time. There are far fewer postures or asanas in the yin style of yoga as are found in more active styles. According to Paul Grilley, there is not a great need for a lot of postures in the Yin yoga practice "The more Yin yoga you practice the less variety is needed and the emphasis is placed on a few basic postures." Although Yin yoga is a more passive practice it can be quite challenging due to the length of time postures are held. This Yin yoga class is open to all levels of students and is a perfect complement to a more yang or more active style of yoga such as Vinyasa Power Flow.

It is believed that is the PNS is tapped out or under-active, illness pervades. If there is a group of people that you believe would benefit from having yoga brought to them, please pass along our information or contact us and we will take it from there! On-site yoga classes are not limited to just workplaces. We also instruct at senior centers, assisted living facilities, hospitals, schools, etc. We can do the same for a Mat Pilates or BarreBody class. Aerial Arts are all done at the studio due to equipment needs.

Getting Started

1. Select an on-site room or location for class. We can accommodate group privates at our studio if your office or facility does not have a suitable on-site space.

2. Decide if classes will meet once a week for 8 weeks or twice a week for 4 weeks. Rates are determined by number of people attending, location of office or facility, and how long the class will be (30 minutes, 60 minutes, or 75 minutes).

3. Contact Lauren Jones at (573) 388-3838 or Contact Us to arrange class details.
